Another long serving member of the Wrights Plastics team clocked up 25 years’ service recently.
Today you’ll find Matty Nutting supervising despatch at our Great Bridge warehouse but in his quarter of a century service he has worked in almost all area of the business, and the variety and the people he has worked alongside are the main reasons why Matty has stayed with the company.
In the year that saw the Eurovision Song Contest and the G8 come to Birmingham, Matty joined the vacuum forming team virtually straight from college, and spend his first two years in that section. But over the next couple of decades he became our ‘utility player’ as he learned new skills and contributed his hard work and dedication to sectors including drape moulding, line bending, gluing and acrylic fabrication.
Our team’s ‘utility’ player
Over the period he has worked with three generations of Wrights; current MD Mike Wright’s father was still running the business when Matty joined and now Mike’s three sons all have involvement in the organisation. Many of the people Matty worked with are also still at the company which has a large number who have reached their 25year service milestone.
Stores and despatch have always been a favourite of Matty’s so he is enjoying his role at the Warehouse which oversees despatch across the UK and Europe from Wrights Plastics and three online brands: Mid West Displays, Love It Own It and Wrights GPX POS.
Matty is happy to report that his wife and kids have managed to spend most of the vouchers he received from the company in recognition of his outstanding service – hopefully he’ll manage to enjoy at least some of the champagne.
